Use Pidgin for Office365 MS Lync 2013 in Ubuntu

Go to Ubuntu Software Center, search and install Pidgin

Open Pidgin and configure as instructed below

1) Choose Protocol as “Office Communicator

2) Specify Username and Login (Username cannot be in the format domain\user)


3) Specify User Agent as UCCAPI/15.0.4420.1017 OC/15.0.4420.1017 (Same User Agent for even inhouse Microsoft Lync)

4) Specify Authentication Scheme as “TLS-DSK” and click Save, then you should have been connected to your Lync Server
